Adding a HOWTO Video

If you are adding a How-To video for a corresponding wiki artlcle, please do the following:

1. Add a link from the wiki article to the corresponding video page.

2. Add a link in the description area of your YouTube video to the corresponding wiki article.

3. If the wiki article concerns a downloadable app, add a link on the video page you just created here on the Bodhi wiki to the corresponding app download page.

First, click the Edit this Page button on the bottom left of the Video HOWTOs page. Find an appropriate place in the list to add the link to your video. If the title to your video is “How to Use Bodhi to Turn Lead into Gold”, enter this text:

**[[How to Use Bodhi to Turn Lead into Gold]]**

On the next line, type a short description:

Yes, Bodhi has perfected the age-old mystery of Alchemy!

Now hit the Save button at the bottom. This will return you to the newly edited version of this page. You will see the link you just created in orange, indicating there is no corresponding page. Yet.

Just click the link and you will be redirected to a page containing the text “Page does not exist” and a button to create the page. Clicking that button will open the editing window, in which you will first enter the page title:

======= How to Use Bodhi to Turn Lead into Gold ======

Be sure to include the 6 equals-signs ( = ) on both sides of the title, as this is what makes the text appear large and in boldface.

Then skip a line and enter the YouTube link and id. The YouTube URL of your video will look something like:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78lKWG8Y7q4

The last part - 78lKWG8Y7q4 - is the YouTube id, which you will insert for your video link, like this:

{{ youtube>PvXk1l6w6ug?large }}

Note the space after the first 2 curly braces and before the last 2 - this will center the video on the page.

Click Save and you're done!
