Sager PCs with Bodhi Linux installed (Sager is manufactured by Clevo)

Sager Laptop

Bodhi Linux lead developer Jeff reports “everything on it works OOTB :)”

CLEVO

M767T

Forum member Meji_D reports: Everything works ootb.

W860C

Forum member Meji_D reports: Everything works ootb.

Notes:For audio on HDMI you need to have the correct S/PDIF channel active in alsamixer. Touchpad is a bit finicky, it works but is very sensitive (especially while typing) scroll function is somewhat unresponsive. Not easily adjusted. (Touchpad brand is “Sentelic”, not Synaptic). Multimedia launch button “WWW” needs remapping, will open “home” on file manager instead of browser.

Not tested: IEEE1394, (have no “FireWire” devices). Fingerprint reader. (Just never used it. Will test if there is any interest).

B5130M and W150HNQ

Forum member Meji_D reports: Everything works ootb. Used bluez for bluetooth, works well.

Notes: Fan has a tendency to toggle between lowest speed and full speed which is annoying sound-wise. Installing “thinkfan” evens out fan speed considerably which reduces noise to a much less noticeable background hum.
Gfx is Nvidia Optimus. Laptop runs fine ootb with access only to the Intel gfx.
Runs hot due to both gfx cards being active. Installing Bumblebee (bodhi 2.0 packages available) will give access to the Nvidia gfx when needed, and also turns it off when not needed, reducing temperature considerably (56°C → 44°C), and almost doubling battery life (~1:40h → ~3:10h) when not using gfx intensive apps.

Not tested: Fingerprint reader. (Just never used it. Will test if there is any interest).

P150HM

Forum member Meji_D reports: Everything works ootb. Used bluez for bluetooth, works well.

Notes: A quirk I have not yet solved is; Skype will not work with internal mic. The internal mic does work in ALSA (HDA Intel PCH), and all other applications using the internal mic that I have tried, so problem lies with Skype.

Not tested: IEEE1394, (have no “FireWire” devices). Fingerprint reader. (Just never used it. Will test if there is any interest). Full USB3 functionality (No USB3 device available to test on. USB2 devices work in USB3 ports).
